Art Meets is constantly wondering why we keep “screaming into the void”. Where’s the meaning? Where are the resources? Where’s the trust?

We received funding and in deciding what to do with it, wrote a love letter to artists to join us in an experiment.

Art Meets, Greatmore Studios and VANSA have created a virtual pageant to collectively inspect this idea of “essential work” more closely.

C l o s e r than ever

A project developed to address the influence of visual technology on human relationships. Local artists (SA) were paired with artists who live and work in other countries, to collaborate and produce original artwork using visual technology as their primary means of communication. In many cases these artists have never met, in some cases they are well acquainted. C L O S E R THAN EVER is focused on the camera’s ability to escape the confines of physical geographies, exploring its various incarnations and the technology that employs it.
